I was a Californian girl who graduated from Sanger High School at the age of 16 and was attending Reedley Junior College not realizing that in a few years I would be living in Idaho. At 19 I left my home and moved to Marsing and applied at Marsing Elementary School in November of 1977. It was a cold winter that year! The high school was located across Logan’s Market and Doran Parkins was the Superintendent and Gary Folwell was the Elementary Principal. I was hired as the music teacher and para professional for grades K-6th. It wasn’t long that BSU was recruiting bilingual para’s to pursue a teaching career. I knew then that it was my destiny because I fell in love with children and the community of Marsing. I received my BA and Master’s by 1981. Included with my elementary certification are several endorsements; English as a Second Language, Bilingual Education, Reading K-12 and a Master’s in Curriculum Instruction.
I am currently the English Language Development and Reading Intervention teacher. I have the pleasure of working with many K-5 grade students! I think I have the best teaching position ever! I also have the pleasure of being the Kindergarten After School Academies teacher! I like to believe that I get my stamina from them as they stay those extended hours of fun and learning! My classroom environment is engaging and always inviting, the way "we" like it.
I am a bonus grandmother of 5, and love music, art, crafts and crocheting.

My passion for teaching has persevered all these years because it has provided me a service of compassion and enthusiasm to this rewarding adventure, they call “ teaching. “
