My name is Carol McVea and I have been married to my handsome husband, Karl for 37 years. we have two grown children and four adorable grandchildren who live in Oklahoma. I was so happy to go see them this summer and meet my newest grandson born on June 20!

I've been a teacher for over 20 years and have taught K-6th grades in Arizona, Oklahoma, and Idaho. I originally did my student teaching in the third grade. I taught 3rd grade at Marsing Elementary last year and I'm excited to be back this year! I was born and raised in a rural community so want to "give back" to a rural school district here in Marsing.

My name is Elizabeth Freeman. I'm married to a loving man named Adam who is also a teacher. Together we have 6 children ranging in ages from 10 to 23 years old. Between my 6 children and husband our house is always busy. Our activities include wrestling, baseball, cheer, choir, cross country, soccer, hunting, fishing, and camping. I also love to travel. This summer I traveled over 5,500 miles covering 13 states.

After working in the Vallivue School District for 7 years as an aide, I decided to return to school and get my teaching degree. I graduated from NNU in 2016 and taught 4th graders at Central Canyon for the last two years. Growing up in Notus, ID I have always loved small schools and districts. While I enjoyed my time in the Vallivue School District, I have always wanted to find myself back in a rural, small school making the move to Marsing extremely exciting for me.

Welcome to Marsing Elementary! I am Maggie Jackson and will be teaching 4th grade this year! I am a transplant to Idaho and originally from Texas. I was living and attending college in California when I met my husband Jeff. We have two beautiful daughters. Our oldest daughter keeps us busy with her soccer schedule and is beginning her plans to attend the Culinary Institute of America in New York. Our youngest daughter keeps us laughing and entertained with her theatrics and larger than life personality. She dreams of trying out for America’s Got Talent although she can’t decide if she wants to dance or sing for the judges. When we somehow manage to get a weekend free we love to go camping.

I am a recent graduate from Northwest Nazarene University (NNU) in May 2018 where I earned my M. Ed. In Curriculum and Instruction. I am certified to teach K-8 with a math emphasis. I previously earned my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology at California State University, Hayward. Before beginning this journey into the classroom I’ve worked here in the Treasure Valley for the last 20 years educating clients on their insurance policies.

There is something wonderfully simple, honest and pure about being in a small community like Marsing. We spend so much time together in the classroom we become family and that family extends from the community into the classroom. We are not simply teacher and students, we become both the student and the teacher learning and teaching each other. It’s going to be an exciting year and I look forward to meeting you!
