Dear Parents, Students and Friends,

As the new principal of Marsing Elementary School, it is an honor to become a member of the Husky Community. During these past few months, I have had many conversations with parents, faculty, and students. From these interactions, it is clear that Marsing Elementary has a dynamic staff, dedicated parents and involved community members. Our greatest initiative will be to continue to work together to provide individual learning opportunities for each student and inspire and challenge our students with engaging experiences. I look forward to working with our students and continuing to provide an excellent educational experience for each child.

I come to Marsing Elementary School with several years of classroom teaching experience in the Middleton School District. The past few years, I was also the summer school administrator (6th to 12th) in Middleton. Prior to being hired as the Marsing Elementary Principal, I served as the district-wide instructional coach. I have also worked as a Graduate and Research Assistant at Boise State University.

On a more personal note, I was born and raised on a farm on the outskirts of Meridian. I received a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University - Hawaii, a master’s degree from Gonzaga University, and my Doctorate in Education from Boise State University. My wife, Ashley, is originally from Atlanta, Georgia. She recently completed her degree as a Doctor of Nursing Practice (psychiatric specific) from Gonzaga University. We have two sons, Gavin and Pierce, that keep us busy and laughing. They are entering the 5th and 3rd grades this fall. They both love reading, playing in the local Optimist Football league, and youth sports in general. I am a sports-junkie, and a Boise State fan. I enjoy camping, hunting, and spending time with my family.

I believe in the importance of building strong relationships with students, families and teachers. It is particularly important for me to make sure that you and your child feel safe and respected at our school. I believe open communication is very important in a school and for this reason, I will always encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher, to a member of the office staff or to me with any questions you may have. I always welcome ideas and volunteers. I can be reached via email at or just stop by to introduce yourself any time as my door is always open to you. Together we will continue to provide outstanding educational opportunities and academic excellence for all of our students.
