My name is Dorothy Hutchings. I am a certified K-8 teacher. I am also a certified K-12 Special Education Teacher, and a certified K-12 Administrator. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Lewis Clark State College located in Lewiston, Idaho. I obtained my Master's Degree in Special Education from University of Phoenix in 2007. I obtained my Master's Degree in Administration/Supervision from University of Phoenix in 2009.
I have experience teaching in the general education setting in grades Pre-school through 5th grade. I have special education experience in Pre-school through 12th grade. I have experience as an assistant principal in grades K-5. I am currently in my 32nd year of teaching, and I am teaching 2nd grade. I love teaching.
My name is Wendy Swenson. I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Idaho in Family and Consumer Science (Child Development/Family Relations) with an emphasis in Child Life. My second Bachelor’s Degree is also from the U of I in Elementary Education with a K-8 endorsement (Early Childhood endorsement). This is my twenty fifth year teaching. I am a proud mom to two children; we enjoy cheering on the Idaho Vandals, road trips, and perfecting our barbecuing skills. When I am not in the classroom you can find me; traveling, working in my yard, or reading a good book.
My name is Mary Westrand. This is my third year teaching second grade at Marsing Elementary, but my thirteenth year in education. I have previously taught first and third grade. I earned a Bachelor’s in Education and a Literacy Endorsement from Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho. My family and I live in Homedale. We have two sons, ages 16 and 11, and one daughter, age 5. Our hobbies include playing sports, camping, riding horses, and participating in the Owyhee County Fair. Our class has a Facebook page called Mrs. Westrand’s Bunch and a group on the Bloomz app for parent communication.
